Microwave drying wood is an advanced technique to apply where you need dry expensive wood in a hurry. When we receive the queries about microwave wood drying. There are some regular questions that pop out. So we generally answer all questions and hope it address your issues.
How long will Max Microwave dry off the wood in the tunnel belt dryer?
There are two aspects that have an influence on drying time. Firstly, input water content of material, the bigger water content of the wood is, the longer time we will spend on drying. On the other hand, the thickness of wood also decide the time spend. The thicker timber obviously takes a longer time to dry as microwave working theory evaporate moisture from inside to external. Typically, it takes 20~30 minutes to process normal logs products.
Does Microwave dryer result in cracking or discoloration?
Inappropriate operation will cause the wood crack, discoloration even slit. MAX typically combine our own wood drying experience and material testing report to avoid those scenarios occur. If the wood has already cracked, you should record some statistics to avoid further split including wood thick, wood moisture, drying time and conveyor speed. In addition, you need take sample to test and write down the number.
Could we choose the short length equipment with strong microwave to minimize drying time?
We suggest that you should choose longer equipment and relative lower microwave power to dry off the material as the stronger microwave power will lead to wood carbonized even wood crack. The drying result will not meet with customer’s expectation either. Our engineer will select the right length and model to handle with the issues.
You could either visit us factory or send us a sample to do the test. And we could make a report for you so you could obtain the real and appropriate equipment statistics
